Maple Valley Youth Symphony tunes up for Nov. 8 season opener

The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra opens its seventh concert season with A Whole New World concert on Nov. 8, featuring Dvorak's "New World Symphony," Disney's "Whole New World," and more.

The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra opens its seventh concert season with A Whole New World concert on Nov. 8, featuring Dvorak’s “New World Symphony,” Disney’s “Whole New World,” and more.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. at Maple Valley Presbyterian Church, 22659 Sweeney Road SE, Maple Valley.

Performers will be dressed in costumes from around the world.

The MVYSO began in the fall of 2007 with only eight students and has grown to close to 120 students with four orchestras, several small ensembles, two beginning strings classes and a special needs music program.

The Nov. 8 concert feature MVYSO’s junior symphony orchestra, symphony orchestra and some small ensembles.
