I know the election is over but not many letters were written regarding the outcome of the election. I’m not going to say anything negative about our current mayor, but I do want to say something positive about his opponent Virginia Haugen.

I think Virginia ran an honest and valiant fight for the mayor’s position and provided much needed competition to the race. She worked hard and had the best interests of the Auburn citizens at heart.

I think she is a great person and I’m proud to say she is my friend. I just wish that everyone had the opportunity to know her the way I do.
