I am amazed that no other person within the Valley Regional Fire Authority’s jurisdiction has written in with a comment regarding the purchase of a $1.2 million ladder truck.
I am appalled at this gross squandering of taxpayers’ money. I live in Auburn and at one time, worked for the Auburn Fire Department. We always purchased good equipment, but never did we squander the taxpayers’ money unnecessarily.
What in the world is the VRFA administrator thinking? If I’m off base, maybe someone should enlighten me because I think it is a disgrace and I’m tired of the tax increases. Would the administrator pay $1.2 million for a ladder truck if the money was coming out of his pocket? I think not.
Unfortunately, I think the citizens are brainwashed and have been sold a bill of goods by the recently formed VRFA.
I’m sure there are others out there who agree with me, but for some strange reason are afraid or too timid to speak up.
Shame on you,
VRFA. I think you could have purchased an equally efficient ladder truck here in the U.S. and for less money.
