Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Nov. 9 and Nov. 15:
Nov. 9
Burglary: Overnight, 1500 block of Auburn Way N. Under cover of the dead of night, burglars pounced on a McDonald’s construction site, then walked away with a generator, a hydrant meter and wire. Police did not disclose a value for the missing items.
Theft from motor vehicle: 10:22 a.m., 200 block of O Street Southeast. Somebody snuck into an unlocked vehicle and snatched a camera. Police did not disclose a value for the missing item.
Fraud: 11:52 a.m., 28000 block of 118th Avenue Southeast. A man told police that he had become the victim of a “Secret Shopper” scam wherein unknown bad guys sent him fraudulent money orders.
Theft: 1:23 p.m., 900 block of 18th Place Northeast. Subjects unknown stole a woman’s purse after she put it down and walked away to attend to other business.
Shoplifting: 2:27 p.m., 1509 Auburn Way S. A woman tried to shoplift baby items from the Auburn Rite Aid, but a store detective caught her. Officers booked her into the Auburn Jail for third-degree theft and an outstanding warrant out of Auburn for failing to comply with a law enforcement officer.
Fraud: 2:34 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way. After a woman closed her Clear Wire account, somebody reopened said account and charged $40.49 to it. She got a refund.
CPS referral: 7 p.m., Hemlock Drive Southeast. A man requested a welfare check on a small boy who had taken his mother’s prescription pill the night before.
Fraud: 3:46 p.m., 1900 block of M Street Northeast. A resident reported that dishonest people advertised furniture for sale online and received a fraudulent check from a potential customer.
No shame: 5:20 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Somebody stole a disabled placard from a vehicle.
Nov. 10
Weapons offense: 12:05 a.m., 3400 block of I Street Northeast. While arresting a man for Pacific warrants, police found brass knuckles upon his wanted person.
Nov. 14
Prowl: 10:55 a.m., 3400 block of Olympic Street Southeast. A man interrupted a thief rummaging through the goods in his unlocked pickup truck, thus stopping him or her from thieving anything.
Possession of stolen vehicle: 1:12 p.m., 210 W. Main St. Police arrested three adults – genders not given – walking away from a stolen vehicle. These three people had property in their possession that had been stolen during previous vehicle prowls and two burglaries. They also had auto theft and burglary tools with which to practice their crooked calling.
Controlled substance: 5:15 p.m., 1800 block of Dogwood Drive Southeast. Having received numerous complaints about possible drug activity at an Auburn residence, police searched it. Turns out the house contained at least one male person in possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, so police arrested him. Police then referred charges to the city prosecutor for two other people in the house.
Theft from motor vehicle: 10 a.m., 1500 block of D Street Northeast. A resident reported a truck break-in and the thieving of tools, a GPS unit and a camera. Police did not disclose a value for the missing items.
Busted: 10:11 p.m., 2020 Mountain View Drive NW. Police contacted two males and two females sitting in a car parked at the overlook near the Mountain View Cemetery and found pot and several pipes with which to smoke it. Police arrested the two males for misdemeanor possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Nov. 15
Trespassing: 10:34 a.m., 801 Auburn Way N. A man hung around too long at Fred Meyer without buying anything, staff objected and police told the loiterer to scram and not come back.
Boosting brassieres: 11 a.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Somebody snatched a couple of bras from Victoria’s Secret and ran off with them.
