Between Sept. 2 and 8, VRFA firefighters responded to 205 calls for service, among them the following:
Sept. 2
Aid call: 7:43 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters treated an elderly woman who’d been complaining of chest pain then firefighters and King County Medics transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).
Sept. 3
Aid call: 7:48 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped a man in the throes of severe abdominal pain and a private ambulance motored him to St. Francis Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Sept. 4
Accident: 6:38 p.m., (Lea Hill). A speeding vehicle struck a parked car and a carport support beam, collapsing the carport onto an occupied vehicle. Firefighters found a severely injured woman inside the vehicle. King County Medics transported the woman to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Sept. 5
Accident: 10:17 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a roll-over accident on Highway 18 treated the injured driver, and King County Medics transported him or her to HMC.
Sept. 6
Aid call: 10:59 a.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters treated a middle-aged woman suffering from dizziness in her home, and a private ambulance transported her in stable condition to MAMC.
Sept. 7
Sink hole: 8:05 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of a sink-hole in the back yard of a residence found a hole about 3 feet in across and 4 feet deep. Firefighters blocked off the area until engineers could inspect the hole.
Sept. 8
Unconscious man: 3 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics revived a young man man who had overdosed on heroin, lost consciousness and stopped breathing. King County Medics transported the man to MAMC for more evaluation and treatment.
