Homes sales in Auburn were down 15.9 percent but home prices rose 4 percent in August compared to the same month last year.

A total of 106 homes were sold at a median price at $260,000, according to numbers compiled by Redfin, a Seattle-based real estate company.

The median home price was $271,675 for single-family homes and $164,750 for condos and townhomes.

The numbers only reflect transactions on the Multiple Listing Service, a local or regional database of available real estate for sale by member brokers.

Auburn homes spent an average of 27 days on the market in August.
