Quality Food Centers, a longtime supermarket outlet in South Auburn, is closing its doors effective at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 17, according to a company spokesperson.
The grocery store, located at 2902 Auburn Way South, had been “under-performing,” necessitating its closure, said Kristin Maas, QFC public affairs director.
“Unfortunately, this store was not performing to the level we needed in order to keep it open,” Mass said. “However, we are optimistic that we will be able to offer all 28 of our Auburn store associates positions at other QFC stores in King County.”
QFC has 45 locations in the county.
Rollin Flatland, public relations representative for the Muckleshoot Tribe, said the tribe will consider options to fill its property.
