When a child is involved in an unfavorable situation, it can be challenging for individuals assisting that child to help them feel comforted. Alleviating feelings of sadness, stress or anxiety can be done in many ways. With help from a cuddly teddy bear, the task at hand becomes a little easier.

For the past 31 years, Bartell’s has been a supporter and donation source for Teddy Bear Patrol; a program created by local radio station, WARM 106.9.

All Bartell’s locations will participate in the donation drive from March 1-31. Customers are encouraged to visit their neighborhood location, purchase an official teddy bear for $8.00 and Bartell’s will match the contribution, bear for bear. This year, the program will receive a new name and an expanded reach. In addition to supporting first responders, EMTs and police officers, the bears will be distributed to any organization in the Greater Puget Sound that help children and families. This includes shelters, hospitals, counselors, schools and more. During the month of March, Bartell’s and WARM 106.9 partner together to help send even more “bear hugs” through this program than in years past.

“Over the years, Bartell’s has had the opportunity to help more than 30,000 kids in the Greater Puget Sound. Last year, we exceeded all expectations and collected over 49,000 bears. These bears can positively impact the lives of many. They not only help children, but they also help the caregiver of those children.
