Cin: Ford making inroads as it changes with the times

Ford Motor Company is successfully overcoming auto industry challenges through aggressively meeting financial and product goals, according to Ford Regional Manager Eric Cin.

“Ford’s long-term success plan is paying off – It’s changing our company, helping us weather the current economic conditions and putting us back on the path to profitability,” said Cin, who recently addressed Auburn Rotary Club members at Grace Community Church.

Rotary Club member Way Scarff, principle dealer at Scarff Ford in Auburn, introduced Cin to the audience and announced: “Ford has rolled up its sleeves and is doing all the things that you expect from a great American auto company. It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Ford family.”

According to Cin, Ford’s comprehensive plan includes aggressively restructuring to operate profitably, and developing products that Ford customers value, such as fuel-efficient, high-quality cars and trucks.

Cin highlighted numerous Ford innovations, including the following:

• Ford SYNC™ technology, which allows drivers to connect almost any mobile phone or digital media player with their vehicles (via Bluetooth or USB connection) and seamlessly operate them using voice commands and steering wheel-mounted controls. This helps drivers keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

• SIRIUS® Travel Link ™ navigation, which provides drivers with up-to-the-minute information and entertainment content through the vehicle’s navigation system, including where to find the cheapest gas, real-time traffic updates and even sports scores and movie times.

• Active Park Assist, available on some Lincoln models, which allows drivers to parallel park their car hands-free. With the touch of a button, drivers can parallel park quickly, easily and safely without ever touching the steering wheel.

At the event, Scarff Ford showcased some of its new Ford vehicles, such as the Taurus, which offers class-leading technologies like Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS™) with Cross Traffic Alert, Ford SYNC™ with 911 Assist, and SIRIUS® Travel Link™.

Another new Ford vehicle featured was the Ford Fusion, the most fuel-efficient mid-size sedan in America. The Fusion is available with a hybrid powertrain and offers features like Ford SYNC™ with 911 Assist, SIRIUS Travel Link™, and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS™) with Cross Traffic Alert.
