Internet in homes will get faster and services become even more reliable as Comcast crews engage in major constructions projects in several different Auburn neighborhoods throughout 2016, Comcast officials said.

“Comcast is very aware that communications services are vital in the lives of our customers. We’re always adding capacity to increase what we can offer consumers, and we’re glad to do it to help our customers. People in Auburn clearly want to be connected to the best in entertainment and telecommunications,” says Chris May, vice president of engineering and technology for Comcast in Washington.

Comcast plans to work on more than two dozen different locations in Auburn on lines and ground equipment to add or improve the infrastructure that allows the company to offer High-Speed Internet, video, digital voice, and smarthome services.

Among the neighborhoods where Comcast is adding capacity, although many other areas are involved include: the 4000 block of Auburn Way North; Lindsay Avenue SE; 129th Avenue SE; North Division Street; South 200th Street; and 22nd Street NE.

Comcast is also expanding its ability to service business customers to a dozen buildings between R Street NW and West Valley Highway North. With this expansion, several businesses now have access to Comcast Business’s comprehensive portfolio of advanced communications services including bandwidth of up to 10 Gbps that will particularly benefit businesses that send and receive large files.

The patterns of activity are typical at Comcast, where tools allow the company to monitor signal strength and address any issues and build capacity proactively, May said.
