Corestar Pilates – in conjunction with the City of Auburn – raised $700 and gathered two barrels of donations for the Auburn Food Bank at its eighth annual Thanksgiving Day Sampler.
The exercise program and nonperishable food drive Nov. 24 was staged at the Gymnasium at Les Gove Park.
“It was a bit lighter turnout this year than the past couple of years, but people donated generously,” said Ruth Stover, owner and operator of Corestar Pilates, who joined other instructors in donating their time on Thanksgiving Day. “I am so grateful that this annual project of ours has been embraced by our community.”
The program included separate 30-minute sessions in yoga, barefoot fusion, pilates and Corestar barre. Participants could stay for one or all four sessions.
Participants were asked to make a $15 donation and bring nonperishable food items.
