“I love it. I never thought I’d love something so much,” said Jeanne Pratt, owner and manager of Auburn’s Curves, which relocated at 421 E. Main St. “It’s my ideal job – helping people get healthier.”

Curves specializes in women’s fitness, a program designed for a full-body strength and cardiovascular workout. Curves of Auburn offers hydraulic resistance strength and cardiovascular equipment.

Curves of Auburn will celebrate its ninth anniversary Dec. 1.

A wide variety of classes and programs are offered.

Hours are 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday.

• Ashley’s Beauty Salon is now open at 130 W. Main St. under owner and operator Wendy Fernandez.

The salon specializes in haircuts, tints, permanent makeup and highlights, waxing, hair extensions and new looks. The salon has three stylists.

Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

• “Fill the Boot”:Firefighters and supporters will be holding out their boots, looking for donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on one of the busiest shopping days of the year, “Black Friday,” Nov. 26.

Members of the Valley Professional Firefighters Union, Local 1352 and the Valley Regional Fire Authority Governance Board will staff the intersection near the Auburn SuperMall, 15th Street Southwest and Supermall Drive, hoping to catch shoppers in a giving mood.

Donations can be made from 8-11 a.m.

• Signe McDaniel, an area Avon representative, is donating 15 percent of online purchases to one of two local charities of the customer’s choice – Auburn Food Bank or the Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission.
