For the Reporter

The Puget Sound Cyber Security Workshop comes to the Event Center at Emerald Downs on March 4.

The free event runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the center, 2300 Emerald Downs Drive, Auburn.

Cyber security is essential as users face one of the fastest growing threats to national and personal security. With news of high profile security breaches and hacks, the growing dependence on cyber systems for running critical infrastructure, and the need to protect personal and proprietary information, building partnerships for sharing information and integrating our cyber security with physical security planning and business continuity is essential.

The event is a regional discussion of cyber threats and common challenges with managing complex data and access.

Emergency managers and affiliated IT support staff, business continuity professionals, control systems technicians, and other private and public sector cyber security stakeholders are urged to attend.
