Red Robin’s statewide ‘Tip-a-Cop’ event to benefit local Special Olympics athletes

Local law enforcement officers and department personnel will turn in their handcuffs and badges for aprons and menus from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, earning tips at Red Robin Restaurants across Washington state for Special Olympics athletes.

During the event, law enforcement personnel will act as “Celebrity Waiters” collecting tips from restaurant guests. The goal for the fundraising event is $150,000, with all proceeds going to Special Olympics athletes.

The 2011 “Tip-A-Cop” event will take place at all 34 Red Robin locations in Washington state, including 1002 Supermall Way, Auburn.
