On a recent Sunday my car was among eight attempting to exit the area of the Wendy’s/gas station at the entrance of The Outlet Connection – the intersection between Wendy’s and the Red Robin restaurant. This was almost an impossible feat as there is no other exit.
At the intersection, traffic from the right is heavy with cars coming from the Walmart, theater and Outlet areas. From the left, traffic coming into the entrance of the mall is heavy, especially from the lane where a free right turn is allowable.
To drive across the intersection from Wendy’s to Red Robin is “running the gauntlet.” If one wants to make a right or left turn at the intersection, you are playing Russian roulette.
Bottom line, someone is going to get killed or seriously injured. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when. Please don’t let that happen.
A traffic light installed would solve the problem. If that is too costly, then ban the free right turn, which would decrease traffic considerably.
I just don’t want to see the white cross staked at the intersection dedicated to the memory of Mr. or Mrs. John Doe.
