A special thanks

We would like to give the students at Auburn Mountainview High School a huge “thank you” for giving Landon Gallion and Kelsie Marr the honor of king and queen of their homecoming.

It is not often that kids with disabilities or challenges get the chance to be considered for homecoming royalty, as they face difficulties with most everything they do. The friendships and support have been immeasurable by the students and staff at Auburn Mountainview.

It was such a great honor to be chosen by their classmates as king and queen, and this will definitely be a highlight of their senior year. Their actions say a lot about the students at Auburn Mountainview; they are caring, friendly and accept others for who they are.

I know Landon and Kelsie are very proud to be a part of this school and couldn’t ask for better friends. I don’t think there is a place we go that Landon doesn’t know someone and they say “hi” to him. As a parent, this means so much.

Kudos to all of Auburn Mountainview.

We will never forget

An open letter to the generous students and staff of Auburn Mountainview High School:

We just wanted to give our heartfelt thanks for the wonderful honor you gave Kelsie and Landon, naming them homecoming queen and king.

We, as parents, know how special and loved they are by us. But it deeply touches our hearts that you showed them how much they are loved and appreciated by you, too.

We, and they, will never forget it.
