Auburn leadership must think Auburn citizens are stupid, and they probably are right because we keep voting for these incompetent leaders.

They speak out of both sides of their mouths. Several months ago, we are told that the city is broke and needs to increase taxes. Then we are told they are hiring a consultant to help identify possible areas to increase taxes. Then we are told the city wants to pay hundreds of thousand of dollars on another consultant for racial equity training. At the same time, we are told the city is going to spend another hundreds of thousands of dollars to build a new park, not to mention the thousands of dollars it will cost to maintain the park.

If the city is broke, then how can they afford to spend what amounts to millions of dollars on unnecessary expenditures?

Here is how to fix the budget: stop spending money on the homeless, and they will go away, and they will find a place that provides free services. Don’t pay a consultant to find extra revenue and try to help fix the budget issues. That is what the finance director is for, and if she can’t do her job, fire her and find someone new.

Stop building parks, we have enough of them.

Time to find new leadership for the city of Auburn. It’s shameful how much downhill this city has gone under this leadership. Stop trying to compete with Seattle.
