The inappropriate and condescending actions of Auburn Post Office staff have provided new customers for private package and letter delivery. By denying handicapped and aged patrons mail delivery, they have shown callous disregard for their own patrons and for their own regulations.
The postmaster has not provided a written explanation for the sudden and unannounced cessation of home mail delivery as requested. We have endured more than a year of harassment with on-again, off-again delivery, as well as blatantly inaccurate and misleading interpretation of postal regulations. This has led us and a few others to use other means for packages and letters, whenever possible, regardless of cost. That service also happens to be significantly better.
Nice going postal employees – UPS and FedEx surely appreciate the business you have given them. We wonder if you get a commission for driving customers their way.
It has been a trying year. Delivery was totally irregular, getting our mail to us about four-five times per week.
The gleeful response, “It ain’t gonna happen,” when we requested the return of our mail delivery, still rings loudly in our ears. How many others have suffered the callous discrimination and have been similarly beaten down by the Auburn Post Office?
