I have lived in Auburn since the late ’80s and have been a resident of Washington my entire life. I am moving to Alabama to live closer to my grandchildren and have had to say goodbye to a lot of businesses in Auburn that I have built wonderful relationships with. I will miss them dearly.
In today’s world, it is hard to find businesses that actually genuinely care about their customers. Since living in Auburn, I have found three businesses that are exceptional, not only in the way they conduct their business, but more importantly, the way they make you feel welcomed.
When my husband and I got female and male dalmatian puppies, we started taking them to the Auburn Veterinary Hospital.
When the first, second and even third litter of pups were born, we did not even think of taking the pups to any other veterinarian. I only have one of my dalmatians left now. She is 12 now and Drs. Schneider and Jow have cared for her all her life. They are by far the best veterinarians I have ever met.
Another business I have frequented is the Firestone on 15th Street. Jason, Dustin, Tom and the rest of the gang are always extremely nice and take a real interest in their customers. They run an outstanding automobile repair shop, and I only wish I could take the whole crew with me to Alabama.
And, finally, my top three would not be complete without The Donut and Muffin Factory. It is so nice to go into a business and have the owners call you by name, not to mention that they make the absolute best donuts and will even put the maple on your maple bar while you stand and wait.
With all the big companies around, it is refreshing to find that there are still some businesses that are still in the business of caring for their customers.
I will miss all of you dearly and appreciate the friendship we have shared.
