Chairman puts in the time, effort

Regarding “What about the independent voices?” (Reporter, March 25):

Brian Gunn is not a politician protecting his lowly job. He is a Democratic District chairman. It is a volunteer position requiring a lot of his time and effort.

The Constitution has served us well for more than 200 years. It defines a democracy, which is not a spectator sport. Participation requires a basic knowledge of the process.

There are many parties, but only two of any consequence.

Choose the one that most supports your values and work to guide it. Every facet of your life is affected by it. It can be done. The Tea Party has been quite successful swaying the Republicans in the last decade.
