Let me get this straight. The following financial “blunders” appear to be a result of our current mayor’s inability to keep track of our money.
The Auburn Municipal Golf Course is losing money. We have to sue a water distribution company for reimbursement for money already paid to Auburn cops for off-duty work they did without a contract. Now, we’re suing the biggest retail outlet in the world because they left their old building vacant.
The City paid $400,000 for the Marvel building on Main Street so it could be torn down to give right-of-way for a promenade. And we all know what happened to Cavanaugh’s property.
Are people who live in Auburn supposed to ignore all these blunders? I think not.
Recent articles in the Auburn Reporter about a certain councilmember “putting the City at risk” look exactly like a way for our mayor to cover up his mistakes. And, isn’t it funny how, if the same councilmember disagrees with the mayor of Auburn, he always tries to shut her up or put her down? Should our mayor always be in control of a person’s right to free speech?
