The lies out there that Virginia Haugen wants to revert back to tavern row and 45 years ago are bunk.

Virginia is worried, as I am, that the development is being done by questionable deals like the Massey’s building and unfair big development not coexisting with small business. Our small businesses are being sacrificed and bullied out of town.

New development should be by private developers, not a government entity that uses tax dollars paid by tax payers to compete with big government in the development business.

The city should not be in the business world, except to run the government to keep us safe and take care of our citizens. No small business or property owner should be sacrificed for big development.

Pete Lewis is only interested in the buck, not what Auburn needs.
