A big thanks to our local fire department.
My granddaughter was driving in the vicinity of Auburn Riverside High School on a Wednesday night about 9:30. She saw a mother duck and her babies attempting to cross the street. She got out, stopped traffic and tried to help. As they crossed, the babies became trapped in the storm drains, and she couldn’t get them out.
Three firemen responded to her frantic 911 call, and efficiently and carefully rescued and reunited the babies with their frantic mom.
Not only did they save the little family, but they showed a somewhat jaded teenager that they cared and made a lasting impression on her.
Thanks fellows.
