The City of Auburn has earmarked a good sum of money for the homeless. I think a facility should be built for showers, toilet facilities and clothes washing. Then have the homeless, who really want to help, work with city supervision to clean up the trash on the Highway 18 exit and entrance ramps and other roads in town.

If they work four hours, they get a voucher for food at a restaurant. If they work six to eight hours, they get a food voucher and a voucher to use the shower facilities. That way they can feel they are earning their way, instead of just getting a handout.
