I just wanted to add my two cents to the previous letters about our overpriced water and sewer in Auburn. Actually, it is $139.12. That was our water bill this month for a household with two people who are not watering the lawn.

I planned to leave King County immediately after retiring in a few years to go about 100 miles south for housing at about half the cost and property taxes that are half of what we pay.

I checked the local utilities in the area. Gas is the same. Electric maybe 35 percent cheaper, water, sewer and garbage are half of Auburn rates.

I am one of the lucky ones. I can leave in a few years. Less traffic and cheap living are looking pretty good.
