In response to recent letters critical of red light cameras (Auburn Reporter, April 20) it is tempting to paraphrase one of them by asking how any rational person could be opposed to following the law.
We do not follow laws from other states. The law in Auburn is what the Washington Supreme Court says it is.
The problem for the scofflaws is that there is no credible argument against the pictures showing them violating the rules of the road and hazarding the rest of the public. They just don’t like being caught red-handed and having to pay the fine for violating the law. They apparently think it is unfair that the rules also apply to them.
