After watching the police procedures while they eliminated the suspicious bag issue (Re: “Police, unit respond to suspicious bag; contents harmless”, Auburn Reporter, online, Aug. 26), I now have a greater appreciation as to what our police officers do to protect us. They should be commended for the ways they worked together calmly and cooperated with each other.

The control of the robot took thorough planning and precise execution, which was a slow process and took extreme patience.

The training and courage of these officers cannot be overrated.
