I wish the City of Auburn would just drop the whole Virginia Haugen (court case). It’s embarrassing.
The city is just making itself look petty and drawing attention to a real problem.
I read the article Pete Lewis wrote about how the downtown area changes are moving forward. It was such a transparent defense against all the criticism about a downtown dying a slow death. I would love to see the plans come to fruition.
But, in the meantime, they are taking what was a pretty harmless prank and blowing it out of proportion.
Virginia Haugen has lived in Auburn most of her life and from what I can tell, she loves this town. Can’t they just lay off and give the “big, bad banner of evil” the little chuckle it deserves and devote tax dollars to prosecuting real criminals?
