We had the opportunity to attend the Olympic Middle School groundbreaking ceremony and thought about our Auburn Citizens for Schools board experience the past couple of years. We’ve all been strong advocates of the Auburn School District (ASD) and giving our kids the opportunity to get a world-class education in Auburn. The path has been varied for some of us (parents, voters, PTA, ad hoc members, etc), but overall it has been the same destination and the most recent step taken on March 20.
Last November, Auburn voters passed the bond that will make those efforts a reality for our kids and our community. Our kids are the future for Auburn, and a majority of the community agreed to help provide them the infrastructure, tools and education to achieve that here at home. We wanted to say thank you to Auburn voters. We appreciate how much effort this will take from our community and the willingness to invest this in future generations of our kids that will attend these best-in-class schools. We believe this will help make Auburn a better place to live, a stronger community, and give our families the advantages associated with a better education.
We encourage you to see the new design for Olympic Middle School. You can head to the ASD’s website to get additional details and watch construction over the next year to see what this community will achieve. Thank you.
