I read in the paper that our legislators want to remove the HOT lanes on I-405 between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. and on weekends and holidays and open the HOT lanes to all without restrictions.
Why is this limited to I-405? Why does this not apply to State Route 167?
We need to be consistent in our application of the rules and not just bend to the will of a vocal few. This local changing of the rules is disgusting.
If it is good for I-405, it is good for 167.
Change the way SR 167 is treated as well. This is just one more case where the powerful are given special consideration.
In fact, when you think about it, why should carpool lanes exist anywhere during the hours and days mentioned above? Let us be consistent in our application of the rules.
Our legislators and our mayor should demand equal treatment for all.
