I support my neighbor, Wayne Osborne, for Auburn City Council Position 7.

Wayne is a patriotic person, having served in the Air Force and Navy in the 1960s.

I have lived by and known the Osborne family for nearly 34 years, and I can attest to their stellar character. They are exemplary neighbors.

Wayne has consistently demonstrated a strong interest in the Auburn community. But it wasn’t until he retired that he was able to devote significant time and energy to participating in City activities.

When he first expressed interest in possibly serving on the City Council, I became excited because I strongly believe he will be a great representative for Auburn citizens.

Wayne has been a solid and involved community member. He was supportive of the neighborhood’s desire to establish a local improvement district to upgrade our water and street, which used to be gravel and is now paved, mainly due to Wayne’s advocacy.

Years ago, he also organized a neighborhood phone tree, which was helpful in keeping us watchful for any possible unusual occurrence.

Since his retirement as an air traffic controller, Wayne has volunteered time and effort – hundreds of hours this last year alone – to attend City Council and committee meetings. He also serves on the advisory board of the Auburn Airport. He has been instrumental in keeping our neighborhood informed about city developments that would impact us.

To perform City Council work and be a knowledgeable member involves significant time. Wayne has that time to serve, and knowing his attributes, he will be more than a full-time representative. He is organized and proactive. He listens before making decisions and acting upon them. He is open-minded.

Bottom line, I trust Wayne to represent the interests of Auburn citizens. The Auburn community would benefit greatly from his service and representation. I urge you to support him as well by voting for him come election time.
