Our good governor

Some years ago a young high school girl took a seat in my contemporary world affairs class at Auburn High School. She was bright, interested in good education and a student leader.

Some years ago a young high school girl took a seat in my contemporary world affairs class at Auburn High School. She was bright, interested in good education and a student leader.

This girl was later Attorney General of the State of Washington and took on some of the best tobacco lawyers in the nation and won a good settlement from them.

Chris Gregoire has now been our governor for four years. She has helped get medical insurance for 45,000 children, invested in education for pre-school children, encouraged businesses to settle and prosper in the state, resulting in Washington being listed as one of the best to do business in the nation.

The state even has an $800 million rainy day fund.

The young woman who sat in the fourth seat back in the third row of my class has done an excellent job as governor. She is a product of the Auburn schools and city. The city can be proud of her governorship and should give her a very positive vote in the coming election.
