Opening the July 12 edition of the Opinion page, I was surprised to read Mr. Cornfields’ piece (“Yes, Virginia, lawmakers did raise a lot of fees and taxes”) briefly explaining some of the new “taxes and fees.”

We all will get to enjoy paying in the upcoming future.

All of this brings me back to the same question: “Why do the people of Washington state keep voting these Democrats into office?
