Regarding: “Presenting a view from the right” (Reporter, letters to the editor, Dec. 28).
Michael (Cook), your opening paragraph says it all. The fact that you have to exalt that Trump supporters “still exist” speaks volumes in and of itself.
Your second point regarding the “fake news” only suggests you are a diehard, bury-your-head-in-the-sand Fox News consumer. Do you in some “alternate fact/universe” not see or accept what is happening in front of our eyes? Do you somehow think that the Mueller probe will not lead to the inevitable impeachment of the sitting clown that we call our president? Do you feel for a moment that Mexico is going to pay for a wall, a fence, a slatted art piece? And bear in mind, that a minority of the electorate supports such a waste of dollars on such an ineffectual deterrent.
And to your next point, seriously, do you have the first inkling as to what it means to be a “nationalist?” In short, it is a political, social and economic ideal that promotes the interests of a particular nation. Buddy, get on board. We are – and have been – a nation of partnerships stemming back to the end of World War II. If you support isolationism, might I suggest another country for you to reside.
Lastly, climate change? How many more cataclysmic events will you witness that you will explain away to volcanoes, little ice ages, or the “lack” of manmade carbon emissions? Again, seriously?
