What value is there in the many political signs that pop up in yards and street corners weeks before an election? A candidate feels the need to at least match the opponents’ signs to be defensive.
The absence of signs for Mayor Pete Lewis says much about the ethics of his opponent and her friends. Lewis invested in 300 red, white and blue yard signs — most of which have disappeared within hours of being planted.
A different ethic motivates friends of Lewis who have left all his opponents signs untouched. Check this out as you drive around Auburn.
It’s not hard to figure whose code of ethics we prefer in the mayor’s office. We know Mayor Lewis to be a person of trustworthy integrity. We continue to be confident in his ability and vision for Auburn’s future.
