In his April 29 letter to the Auburn Reporter, Brian Riddle has a very good point. As far as I see, he hit the nail on the head.
I’m 76, saw Pacific Raceways as they were building it. My former husband raced cars on tracks that people built and moved to close by. Spanaway and Sea Tac raceways are two tracks we raced on and saw the demise of because people moving to those areas complained of the noise.
I am sure there are still a lot of us around who remembers those tracks and enjoyed them. Noise, the excitement, the thrill of the demo derby and, most of all, the trophy dashes. Oh, for the good old days. Varoom.
