We recently participated in a tour of Auburn High School and the meeting that followed with school district board members, administrators and others involved in the planning for building a new school for our community.
We were shocked to see the conditions that now prevail at the school. While the building has served Auburn students for many many years, it is clearly now time to give our high school students a building that is safe, healthy and capable of supporting the many important programs now offered.
Passage of the upcoming bond issue will do this and also insure that students in Auburn are provided the same high quality conditions for learning now being provided at other high schools in the district.
We compliment the well informed students who took us on the tour, and the board members and school staff who informed us about all the conditions and facts behind the bond issue. The students and faculty were proud of their school but are very aware of how a new school will improve conditions for learning.
Passage of the bond issue will not increase our taxes, but it will result in a brand new school in town that will be the pride of our community.
We plan on voting yes on the bond issue, and encourage others to support our students and educators by doing the same.
