Support Backus for mayor

The primary voter turnout percent in some cities ranged from 43-percent high to 27 percent in Auburn, King County. The lower voter apathy is very disturbing to me as a longtime voter.

In King County alone, there were 2,500 ballots not counted because of signature identity, another 4,200 ballots that didn’t reach the election offices before the return date. And finally, there were 18,000 ballots returned undeliverable to the addresses on record.

My whole point of the above statistics is that we all live in a society of opportunity to promote a candidate of our choice. We want the best of the best for our candidate. We want them to win and finally, at the end of the hard-fought campaign, take the office feeling proud of one’s accomplishment.

One such candidate is Nancy Backus, candidate for mayor of Auburn. Nancy is a leader. She thinks for herself. She’s a consensus builder and takes on City challenges when given the opportunity.

Nancy came through the primary election process in good shape, but she is not complacent where she is in the polls. Every vote counts – the above numbers, if counted by the election offices, could have made a difference for any candidate.

The general election is on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Please vote for Nancy Backus, who is experienced, has a sound financial background and wants the challenge of running a city government like a corporation.
