As a business owner in downtown Auburn for over 17 years, I am greatly appreciative of the Mayor and City Councilmembers who are looking forward to creating a viable and exciting downtown with a variety of venues, parking, and an exciting atmosphere.

Change usually takes a long time and I appreciate the efforts they are making to create an interesting mixture of retail, dining, medical, and eventually residences downtown. At the present time, clothing, antiques, jewelry, teas and coffees, eateries, salons, books, lamps, insurance, shoe repair, travel, legal offices, specialized groceries, yoga, quilt classes and fabric make for an eclectic mixture. It is on the road to getting better.

I support wholeheartedly Mayor Pete Lewis and the present council members who are working hard to keep downtown interesting and provide a good tax base for this city.
