I applaud your selection of Largo Wales as Person of the Year for 2009 (Auburn Reporter, Jan. 1). I could not agree more with this selection, and cannot think of a more deserving person.

As a grandmother of a special needs child, I have met and had numerous experiences with Ms. Wales. I always came away thinking that she was a real asset to our community and to the children who have the need for her services. She always puts the children first, no matter what the circumstances, and goes out of her way to meet their needs with prompt and correct action.

We are indeed fortunate to have such a woman in our community, and you are to be commended for your research and for an over-the-top selection.
