Time to keep pace

Fifty-plus-year-old schools that were built not to last longer need to be replaced. Modern computer access does not fit into very old buildings. To fall behind on these buildings does not make economic sense.

The capital improvement levy will ensure that this modern technology can be extended to the rest of the district buildings.

These are hard economic times, but I do believe Auburn can keep its schedule in good shape. All of these funds will be spent locally and help with the local employment problem.

Also, it is true that the district can do this without increasing tax rates over the 2006 rate.
