Two candidates equipped for the job

There is a saying when someone is unusually lucky, they "have the luck of the Irish."

There is a saying when someone is unusually lucky, they “have the luck of the Irish.”

I would say the City of Auburn qualifies, given the quality of two new candidates – Wayne Osborne anad John Holman – for City Council in the coming fall election.

Wayne and John have the backgrounds. They have taken the time, attending hours of committee meetings to understand how a strong mayor and council system work. They have given many hours of volunteer work to the community.

As a past member of the City Council with 12 years experience, I understand what a councilmember’s real duties are. And I am well aware of the preparation of these two candidates and the qualifications they bring with them for being representatives of the citizens of Auburn.

We need to have councilmembers who are willing to make the commitment, take the time and be at the table when decisions are being made.

Please do your work. Look into the business of city government.

The real qualifications of these candidates for office can make this new City Council the best ever. The unopposed candidates certainly are well qualified for the job. Give the support to the two most qualified for the other two openings.
