As one of the 10 biggest-selling bands in the annals of popular music, Alabama has more No. 1 records than any band in country music history, and has sold more concert tickets than any other country group. Their music has spanned more than 40 years, ranging from “Feels So Right” and “The Closer You Get,” to their most recent collaboration with Brad Paisley, the No 1 hit, “Old Alabama.”
To date, Alabama has 21 gold, platinum and multi-platinum albums, 43 No. 1 singles and more than 73 million records sold. They have received over 150 industry awards including eight country music “Entertainer of the Year” honors, two Grammys, two People’s Choice Awards and their very own star on the “Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
The band received the Academy of Country Music’s Pioneer Award in 2003, was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005, and most recently won the American Country “Greatest Hits” Award in 2011.
The world was stunned when Alabama announced on the Academy of Country Music Awards that they would be hosting their Farewell Tour in 2003.
Over the years Alabama has continued to give back through donations to school systems, libraries, speech and hearing centers, support for our military troops, and victims of Hurricane Katrina. Their humanitarian efforts individually and as a group have been epic.
