Alex Koll, star of Internet and TV whose taste for the absurd may get you hooked as well, headlines April’s Comedy at the Ave.

Koll’s comedy has grown organically, starting at an early age, to reflect a far-reaching creativity that has two dirty sneakers planted firmly on the ground. His act dips and weaves between what’s right in front of us all and unexpected forays into the strange.
He has performed at the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, Comedy Central’s “Live At Gotham,” the SXSW festival, ComedyFest Vancouver and many others. His work in film can be seen on IFC.com, SuperDeluxe.com, with Rooftop Comedy and Revision3.
Kroll is also the two-time winner of the San Francisco Regional Air Guitar Championship.

Brandon Cash Tribute to Johnny Cash: 7:30 p.m. April 13. Emulating a true musical legend, Brandon Cash’s performance is largely based on the early years of Johnny Cash’s career, including the Tennessee Three and the Carter family. Performing both true classics interspersed with his own original music which celebrates a true country tradition. Tickets: $20, $18.

Ave Kids presents Disney’s Mulan Jr.: 7 p.m. April 19-20; 2 p.m. April 20-21. Travel back to the legendary, story-telling days of ancient China with this action-packed stage adaptation of Disney’s Mulan. Tickets: $6.
Forbidden Broadway: 7:30 p.m. April 26-27. Broadway’s favorite spoof and Tony Award winner. Satirical vignettes of “Grease”, “Wicked”, “Phantom”, “Les Mis”, “The Producers” and “The Lion King”. Tickets: $17/$15.
Vocal Trash: 7:30 p.m. May 3. Vocal Trash continues to electrify the young and old with their tight acappella harmonies, industrial “stomp” style drumming and breakdancers.
