Auburn’s ArtRageous: Artists in Action Art Fair will be held on Aug. 7, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Auburn’s Les Gove Park, 11th & Auburn Way S.

The festival will feature professional artists who be demonstrating, offering related hands-on activities and selling their own artwork.

The free one-day art extravaganza invites attendees to create, celebrate and explore the arts.

Artist in action booths will include:

• Spray Paint Stenciling with CASH

• Bird Sculptures with Therese Buchmiller

• Book Making with Paste Paper with Kathleen Gray

• Lithography with Mirka Hokkanen

• Woodburning with Paul Langston

• Encaustic with Tia Matthies

• Sumi-e with Ellen Miffitt

• Watercolor with Scott Mulholland

• Metalworking with Amy Reeves

• Clay Masks with Amaranta Sandys

• Woodcarving with Michael Taskey

• Metal Relief Tiles with Michelle Gregory-Van Dyke

• Quilting with White River Valley Museum

• Community and Art Organizations

• Dance Performances by Pacific Ballroom Dance, Auburn Children’s Dance Theater and Tacoma School of the Arts

• Music by Klezterbalm

• Community Mural Painting Project

Also planned are two unique projects, Travelling Art Encampment and Plein Air in the Park that are seeking artist involvement.

Earlier this year, Auburn’s 2009 ArtRageous: Artist in Action Art Fair received the top “Spotlight Award for Program Excellence” for Events, Fairs and Festivals from the Washington State Parks and Recreation (WRPA) honoring public agencies for outstanding and unique achievements.
