Kids Summerstage – the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department’s midweek concert series – returns to Les Gove Park for six performances.
Performances are noon Wednesday in the park, 910 Ninth St. SE, beginning July 6 and ending Aug. 10.
Pack a lunch, swim suits and towels for play at the Rotary Spray Park and spend the afternoon in a park.
THE LINEUP
• July 6 – The Chancy & Narlie Show. The popular singer songwriter Nancy Stewart and the hilarious noise-making machine, Charlie Williams (aka The Noise Guy) have joined forces to offer one great show that will keep you entertained from start to finish.
• July 13 – Reptile Isle. Always a hit with kids, Reptile Isle intrigues and educates his audience and provides a hands-on component at the end of the show.
• July 20 – Recess Monkey. A trio of Seattle teachers that will entertain with their irresistibly catchy music. This hour will be jam-packed with sing-able, danceable “kindie” songs that parents enjoy as much as their kids.
• July 27 – The Magic of Jeff Evans. You need to see it to believe it. Evans provides an entertaining, interactive and super fun show that will keep audiences of all ages entertained.
• Aug. 3 – The Brian Waite Band. Live rock shows that thrill both parents and children alike. Their top quality musical shows include feature imaginative storytelling and unique storylines all carried out in a joyous live show.
• Aug. 10 – Eric Ode. An award-winning author, song writer and poet for children and families. Eric’s shows are interactive, entertaining and loads of fun. His popular songs keep kids bouncing with excitement throughout the show.
In addition, an ArtRageous hands-on art component will be offered each week – free of charge. Participants have the opportunity to learn various art techniques from professional artists. All craft projects are offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sample activities include marbleized paper and sun catchers with artist Mary Ellen Bowers.
