More on CeeLo
CeeLo came onto the music scene as a member of the southern hip-hop group Goodie Mob. Little did he know in the mid-1990s that he would become a singer/songwriter/producer/TV personality/actor/entrepreneur less than 10 years later. CeeLo is known not just as a Grammy Award Winner, but also as a mentor/judge on the third season of NBC’s hit show, “The Voice”.
In 2001 CeeLo received five Grammy nominations for his worldwide hit “Forget You,” winning the category for “Best Urban/Alternative Performance.” The single is certified Gold. Last fall he released a Christmas album, and will soon be releasing another album, Everybody’s Brother. He’s made countless appearances on national shows and events, including “Saturday Night Live” and “Oprah” (2011), and presented at the “ESPYs” (2011) and “Kids’ Choice Awards” (2012). CeeLo landed on the cover of Fast Company in 2012 representing the “Most Creative People in Business” issue.
CeeLo joined Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton as mentors/judges on “The Voice”, and has made TV guest appearances on “Parenthood” and “American Dad” (2011), and “How To Rock” (2012). He is also the voice of “Murray the Mummy” in the Sony animated film “Hotel Transylvania”. He will also star in “Can a Song Save Your Life?” in 2013.
