A fast-paced, technically innovative and beautifully presented show, the fabled Golden Dragon Acrobats performs Cirque Ziva at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, part of the City of Auburn’s Bravo Performing Art Series.

Combining astonishing acrobatics, vibrant costumes and spectacular sets, Cirque Zíva drives each performance with remarkable passion and incredible skill. The 25-person cast presents an array of centuries-old Chinese acrobatic arts that will surprise and dazzle – juggling hats, balancing cups, spinning plates and diving through hoops.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats hail from Cangzhou, Hebei province, in the People’s Republic of China and have toured the United States continuously since 1978. Its 25 members are athletes, actors and artists who have studied and trained for their craft since early childhood.

The group has performed in 50 states and in more than 65 countries throughout the world. They will amaze you with acrobatic feats they perform using their bodies and simple props including everyday objects like plates, jugs, bicycles, umbrellas and more.

Produced by Danny Chang (artistic director of the Golden Dragon Acrobats), Cirque Zíva was created in 2011. The large cast and spectacular set designs illustrate the best of Chang’s brand of artistic merit, high production value and solid commitment to cultural exchange.
