City to celebrate art panel’s silver anniversary with public art collection

In recognition of the City of Auburn Art Commission’s 25th Anniversary, a public program celebrating Auburn’s Public Art Collection will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24, 6 p.m. at the Auburn Avenue Theater.

In recognition of the City of Auburn Art Commission’s 25th Anniversary, a public program celebrating Auburn’s Public Art Collection will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24, 6 p.m. at the Auburn Avenue Theater.

Walk the Talk: Public Art in Auburn will bring together nine regionally, nationally and internationally recognized artists to share memories, inspirations and context of the well-loved public artworks they created for the City of Auburn.

The 90-minute panel discussion, moderated by Heather Dwyer of 4Culture/King County Cultural Arts Authority, will explore various topics regarding public art from the artists perspective through the lens of the artwork created for Auburn’s collection. Artists participating include (artwork title and date following):

Following the panel discussion participants are invited to join a guided walking tour of the downtown public art collection.
