Green River Community College will present “The Merry Wives of Windsor” – one of Shakespeare’s earliest comedies, allegedly written for Queen Elizabeth I, herself.
Performances are May 29-30 and June 5-6 at the GRCC Performing Arts Building, 12401 SE 320th St., Auburn.
The play chronicles the mischievous and comic exploits of the rotund and rascally Sir John Falstaff, as he tries to play Casanova to the very proper wives of the town of Windsor.
Andrew Lee Creech takes the role of Falstaff, and Chailee Friant will play one of the title characters, a merry wife in Mistress Margaret Page. Kayla Moszer appears as another merry wife, Mistress Alice Ford, and Thomas Hart, as her jealous and raging husband, Francis Ford. They all are supported by a cast of a dozen other student actors.
Another set of different actors will perform the show on the following weekend in June. Heading that cast will be John Tague (in his own Falstaff fatsuit), Caely Gould (Mrs. Page), Celena Aguiniga (Mrs. Ford), and Ron Corwin (Francis Ford).
Tickets are $9 general admission, $7 students and seniors. For tickets and further details, call 253-833-9111, extension 2400.
